As an Ice Cream-ologist, you’ll assist customers by answering questions about our ice cream, scooping ice cream, preparing specialty desserts, running the register,  and more.  Previous experience in the food industry is a plus. There will also be opportunities to grow within the company for motivated individuals!

Pay starts at $10.75 per hour plus tips. On average our employees receive $18-$20/hour during any given shift with pay + tips.

Job Tasks Include:

  1. Scooping ice cream.
  2. Running register.
  3. Preparing quality desserts. ( Our desserts are unique and require attention to detail ).
  4. Direct interaction with customers

Qualifications & Abilities:

  1. ServSafe Certification is a bonus 
  2. Ability to communicate and work well with customers and coworkers.
  3. Ability to pay attention to detail.
  4. Works well under pressure and can focus on the task at hand.
  5. Works well in a fast-paced environment
  6. Experience in the food industry is a bonus

Pay:

  • Starts at $10.75 per hour PLUS tips which average $18 – $22 / hour
  • ServSafe Certified starts at $13.25 an hour PLUS tips.

ServeSafe certified isn't required but is a plus. Pay is also increased if certification is in hand.

Hiring Full-Time Manager

Urban Churn is looking for a full-time manager to join the team!  You’ll be working as a leader in a fast-paced environment assisting and supporting employees as well as engaging in daily operations for the company as a whole.  As a full-time manager, you’ll have the opportunity to help mould and grow the company.  We are looking for someone who has previous management experience, a business mindset, great communication skills and a love for organizing. This an hourly based, full-time position.  This position is best for someone who wants to grow alongside a small business and see its potential. The first year will be busy with changing and additional roles becoming available as the company expands.  A manager will essentially be the right-hand person and works alongside the owner.

General Job Tasks:

  1. Employee Scheduling.
  2. Assisting and Supporting Retail Employees.
  3. Keeping Stock of  Supplies For The Shops To Operate.
  4. Assisting social media management and content creation.
  5. Occasional requests to drive to pick up ingredients or necessary supplies.
  6. Working shifts at retail locations as see fit.

Hiring Shift Leader and Dessert Specialist.

We are looking for high-energy leaders that are motivated, have experience in the food industry and enjoy interacting with others.   This role is about supporting others,  flexing culinary muscles and working directly with customers by helping them choose flavours that would be best for their pallet.  Because we have over 20+ flavours to choose from, customers will need assistance in choosing a flavour that will help the line move.  An understanding of ingredients and how they interact with each other is important.  A Shift Leader / Dessert Specialist is also responsible for preparing desserts that require more skill.  The use of Chef’s Torch, knives, bourbon, and mixing is done by the Dessert Specialist.  This role will report to the General Manager with any shift updates and provide additional support, as a leader, to coworkers.

Job Tasks Include:

  1. Reports to General Manager with shift updates
  2. Become a leader for other part-time employees by providing support, encouragement, and assisting customer support.
  3. Prepare desserts that require more skill and use of specific tools such as chef’s torch, knives etc.
  4. Scooping Ice Cream
  5. Greet and engage with customers.
  6. Assist customers by guiding them with flavour choices.

Qualifications & Abilities:

  • Starts at $14.75 per hour PLUS tips which average $20- $24 / hours ( PART TIME )
  • As Urban Churn continues to grow, full-time positions will open and opportunities to grow within the company will become available.
